Who We Are

We are The Friends of Fairfield, founded in 2018 to support the Fairfield County Animal Control (FCAC) shelter. From the beginning, our mission has been to raise awareness, provide resources, and help facilitate networking for the animals in their care. What started as a small group of passionate volunteers has grown into a stronger community effort. Today, we have expanded our focus beyond the shelter—offering assistance, outreach, and awareness throughout Fairfield County to better serve both pets and the families who love them.

Our Orange Logo

The Orange Team focuses on advocacy, rescue partnerships and transfers, networking animals in need, and fundraising efforts.

Our Blue Logo

The Blue Team leads our community outreach with a strong emphasis on Spay/Neuter. We provide FREE spay/neuter services to Fairfield County residents, support TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) efforts, assist with medical needs, maintain a pet food pantry, and focus on retention and diversion programs. Together, our efforts aim to reduce the overpopulation of unwanted pets and ease the burden of the constant influx of animals at the shelter.
